This workshop examines films made by directors like Andrei Arsenyevich Tarkovsky, Krzysztof Kieslowski, Roman Polanski and other masters to understand cinematography by getting to the heart of direction – the poetry that moves us.

Karol M’s experience as a 1st Assistant Director, 2nd Assistant Director, Director of Photography, 2nd Camera Assistant, Production Designer, Screen Writer in the UK and Australia reflect this young writer director’s passion.

Graduate from Screen and Media at The Sydney Film School, a premier creative institute for emerging filmmakers, using 16mm film and digital technologies Karol M was awarded Best Assistant Director and Best Production Designer at Sydney Film School Festival.

The Challenge:All films made in the workshops will be based on your own personal response to a poem from thiscollection.org and will be showcased in various events across Scotland.

All workshops are free but donations are welcome.
